A clean sweep for Campey at St. Georges Park

Campey Turf Care Systems deal with debris. Whether blowing it around or sweeping it up, the Imants RotoSweep and Imants RotoBlast provides the solution.

The RotoSweep offers efficient removal of surface debris from sports turf, including cores, grass clippings, leaves and general litter collection. It features a dual powered brush system, meaning even heavy debris can be collected without any damage to the grass. The centrally positioned axles allow tight contours to be followed. It is tractor towed, powered from the PTO and tipped hydraulically. The large 2.5m³ hopper gives fast and efficient collection.

Alan Ferguson Head Groundsman at FA National Football Centre - St. Georges Park, declares that certain pieces of maintenance machinery stand out as being essential to maintaining the highest standard of playing surface.

“The combination of RotoSweep and verti-cutting is proving invaluable,” enthuses Alan. He uses it every month to remove thatch and weeds and to give a light aeration to a depth of 5mm. It picks up all sorts of debris and loose herbage which has definitely prevented a build-up of algae, keeping the surfaces clean and healthy.

The RotoBlast is a tractor mounted (3pt linkage) blower, designed to move leaves, grass clippings, thatch, litter and other unwanted surface debris. It is ideal for clearing greens and tees and fairways. Although small in comparison to other tractor mounted blowers, it is surprisingly powerful.

Course Manager at Harewood Downs Golf Course, Dominic Lewis, is delighted with the performance of the Imants RotoBlast blower.

Along with the usual issue of leaf clearance, Dominic has to deal with several varieties of pine, which although very attractive, create a problem when shedding their needles.

The RotoBlast is mounted on a wheeled chassis to allow contour following whilst maintaining a constant nozzle height above the ground. Weighing 100kg it is very manoeuvrable. Capacity is 300m2/min with an operating speed of 0.6 -6.2mph, requiring only 25 -50 hp tractor power.
