Soil moisture is perhaps the most important parameter to measure accurately when monitoring or managing plant growth conditions. Delta-T Devices produce sensors capable of providing growers and consultants with highly accurate data that they can use to base important management decisions upon.

Delta-T Soil Moisture Kits are portable, easy to use tools for instant and reliable soil moisture measurements. The ThetaKit uses a research grade probe, capable of measuring soil water content to an accuracy of +/-1%.

A principal application for the robust ThetaKit is spot checking and monitoring sports turf, such as golf greens, to ensure optimal growing conditions and to detect potential deficiencies in irrigation systems.

Delta T’s other soil moisture sensors and kits offer cost effective ways to check bedding and border plants, container nursery stock, and displays. 

When combined with a Delta-T Logger, like the GP1, the sensors can be used for long term monitoring and also for precise irrigation control.

Soil Moisture Kits based on the HH2 Moisture Meter enable the display and storage of measurements for later download to a computer. In this way a database of best practice can be developed, that allows for more standardisation and consistency in decision making.

Deeper soil moisture measurements can be taken quickly and conveniently with the PR2 Profile Probe. The PR2/4 has measurement points at four depths down to 40cm, while the PR2/6 has six measurement points down to 100cm.

The PR2 uses access tubes which can be installed at several locations so that a single PR2 Probe with an HH2 Moisture Meter can take measurements over a wide area.
