Wild Flower & Conservation area maintenance made easy, by Ryetec

Wild flower and Conservation area management can be greatly improved by the cutting and removal of annual growth to reduce fertility and reduce competition from more aggressive species.

Ryetecs Contractor collector flail mower is ideal for this situation and can easily cut long wet grass and collect it in one pass leaving a clean finish which allows wild flowers to flourish discouraging vigorously growing grasses in favour of more traditional slower growing varieties. The Contractor collector comes in a numbers of shapes and sizes to suit compact and full size agricultural tractors and with either ground or high lift tipping hoppers, the robust nature of these machines means they can be used in woodland situations and on undulating ground where stones can be present. These machines are also suitable to collect seeds such as heather for regeneration projects and as the heavy duty cutting flails can handle woody material up to 3” (75mm) in diameter they are very effective for clearing invasive species such as silver birch and gorse and any other unwanted scrub. A large diameter rear roller carries the machine during work and thanks to its large diameter it can handle wet ground conditions without damage to the surface, as the mower is fully mounted on the tractors three point linkage it is easily manoeuvred in awkward situations with minimal risk of damage to obstacles that may be encountered.

Contractor collectors are in use all over the UK by private contractors, Natural England, The National Trust and many local Wildlife Trusts on all kinds of conservation, wild flower and seed harvesting projects. Contractor collectors stand years of heavy use, many customers are now using their 3rd and 4th machines as used machines retain a significant trade in value and there is good demand for refurbished machines where restricted funds mean a new machine is not possible.
