Large area mower leaves top quality finish even in wet conditions

The Triflex gang mower from Ryetec was developed to provide a solution to high quality cutting of amenity grass areas especially in wet conditions. The mower combines the high rotor speeds of a cylinder mower with 21st century flail technology to offer a machine which will cut wet grass as effectively as dry and long grass as effectively as short without blocking and with a completely even spread of mulched cuttings for quick and easy dispersal without unsightly lumps associated with rotary type movers.

The cylinder design also means the cutting heads retain the agility of cylinder type mowers thus avoiding the problem of scalping which can be a common problem with rotary machines. An accurate screw adjuster for cutting height virtually identical to that on a cylinder mower controls the full width rollers and a three axis floating of the cutting head allows the Triflex to effectively cut badly undulating ground with ease to leave an excellent finish.

The flail technology means that should the mower encounter stones, sticks or other foreign objects any damage is limited to only one or two of the heavy duty cast flails of which there are 88 on the machine, these can easily be changed/replaced by the operator to return the mower to 100% efficiency and the absence of a bottom blade means no skilled setup is required, flails can be sharpened with a standard angle grinder a number of times through their lifetime to keep running costs to a minimum.

Drive to the mowing heads comes from a simple mechanical system and not an expensive and complicated hydraulic system and can be routinely maintained by the operator further reducing running costs. The whole machine folds from its working width of either 4.2 or 5 metres depending on model to a easily transportable 2.25 metres to travel between sites and puncture proof Kevlar tyres mean no down time with inconvenient punctures.
