Makita 4-stroke 43cc brush cutter to challenge for contract business

The Makita MM4 mini 4-stroke engine is very much the heart of the rapidly expanding professional range of ground care machines. These tools are being chosen by major landowners and grounds maintenance contractors for some very real benefits in cost savings, environmental impact and user comfort. By using regular fuel the operating fuel cost is minimised and the risk of miss-oiling is avoided. 4-stroke engine emissions are substantially lower than 2-stroke engines and the pressurised lubrication system provides the ultimate engine protection for use at any angle.

The new Makita 43cc EM4351UH 4-stroke brush cutter is challenging the market of 2-stroke heavy duty machines used for contract grass control. The new Makita 43cc brush cutter has lower vibration levels, lower noise output, lower fuel consumption and for a similar price to the 2-stroke machines in the market.

Commercial grounds maintenance operators need reliable machines and the Makita MM4 engine provides rugged durability coupled with performance and productivity. The 43cc 4-stroke engine develops 2hp at 7000rpm to drive the cutting head through the toughest growth all day. The engine is carried on four rubbers that effectively separate the motor and drive system from the handlebar controls which minimises the transmission of motor vibration to the rubberised handgrips. The Makita EM4351UH, with nylon line head for the most practical operations, has a vibration rating of 2.1m/s² on the right-hand handle grip and 2.0m/s² on the left- hand handle, the lowest ratings of the commercial machines in this category. These “bike handles” can be adjusted or folded for transport without the need of tools. The noise generation is also low with a sound pressure of 96.2dBa and sound power of 108.9dBa.

Weighing just 8.6kg the EM4351UH is supplied with a full professional harness that includes comfortable double shoulder straps with wide, rigid back spreader plate and wide belt. Professionals who have already tested this new Makita brush cutter are universal in their praise for the harness which has a very easy-to-use quick release clip to attach the machine, instead of the difficult ring clip of other brands. A universal guard is provided for use with either metal star-blade or nylon cutting head.
