Schiller SALTEX review

Schiller Grounds Care UK launched several new products at SALTEX in the Classen, Little Wonder and Mantis ranges. Seen for the first time was the new Classen RA21 walk behind reciprocating aerator. It promises light weight and simplicity combined with top performance, punching clean holes in tough soil without additional weights.

The new Little Wonder outfront hydrostatic rotary brushcutter was shown. It is designed to navigate through weeds, heavy brush and vegetation with infinitely variable forward and reverse drive. It’s an excellent machine for contract and hire use.

Schiller have developed a new Little Wonder Advanced Performance Vacuum which offers a professional solution to clearing up and collecting stones, bottles, cans, leaves and other debris. It’s ideal for cleaning industrial and residential areas, commercial sites and car parks. Based on the tried and tested Little Wonder HPV, the new Little Wonder APV is self propelled.

The name Mantis needs little introduction and the brand was well represented with a host of new products. The Mantis BunkerMaster is developed from the perennial favourite Mantis tiller for maintaining sand bunkers on the golf course. Even with its 4-stroke 25cc engine it is a lightweight tool, offering a low cost and versatile solution to quick redistribution of the sand as well as being a very capable de-thatcher. Mantis has always represented high quality and value for money and the new electric and cordless garden tools are no exception. Two electric chainsaws, recently tested by tree surgeons, get top marks for general tree limb cutting and logging. Cordless hedge trimmers join the range, with a long reach articulated version for easy maintenance of tall hedges. A cordless shrub and grass shear is a handy tool and a 2.5 metre pole pruner will reach those high branches without a cable to get entangled. For dealing with autumn’s leaves there’s an electric blower/shredder vacuum and come winter a choice of two snow blowers.
