IT’S AN M-TRONIC EXPANSION: More chain saw users to enjoy the self-tuning advance – the new MS 261 C-M chain saw available now

STIHL is renowned for its innovative power tools and advanced technologies that bring benefits to users and their environment too. The STIHL M-Tronic engine management system is another classic example: its self-tuning technology ensures optimum engine performance day in, day out and makes M-Tronic power tools very easy and efficient to use.

New STIHL MS 261 C-M chain saw : the legend becomes self-tuning

Trimming branches, felling trees in medium density stands and general thinning. Thanks to its cutting precision and powerful torque, the STIHL MS 261 chain saw is STIHL’s top-selling all-rounder that makes reliably light work of many wood cutting tasks. Originally launched in 2010, the MS 261 introduced some of STIHL’s best innovations to cement it as a legend in the mid-range class. Advances benefitted both users and their environment, and included the eco and fuel-efficient STIHL 2-MIX engine, a long-life air filter system to minimise filter cleaning and extend air filter life, and even small details like captive nuts on the sprocket cover that meant users would not lose them when tensioning the chain or removing the guide bar.

So what could STIHL do to further improve this already legendary chain saw? M-Tronic technology was the obvious next step, and the new self-tuning model MS 261 C-M is now available from Dealers nationwide.

What makes the M-Tronic model truly special; all its advantages come with not a gram of extra weight. This easy-to-use chain saw remains at just 5.2kg – exactly the same as the standard model MS 261, and vibration is un-changed at a low 3.5m/s2. Users will welcome the new M-Tronic model’s familiar compact design and easy handling; what they will appreciate even more is the supreme ease of starting (with no more choke to control), plus the chain saw’s spontaneous acceleration and un-wavering power when they set it to work. They will also enjoy that they no longer need adjust the carburettor settings to maximise performance and the engine is less vulnerable to varying fuel grades. All fundamental benefits of its M-Tronic advance.

Why M-Tronic?

Combining some of the world’s most advanced two-stroke engine technologies, STIHL M-Tronic power tools are efficient, productive and genuinely easy to use. Their powerful STIHL 2-MIX engines are economic, eco-friendly and fuel efficient, and the STIHL

M-Tronic Engine Management System gives the power tools ‘a brain’. M-Tronic models are characterised by genuine easy-starting with no warm/cold choke control, superb acceleration and consistent maximum speed; that means the moment they fire up they simply power on the work.

The continually self-tuning technology ensures engine performance is automatically optimised, and manual carburettor adjustments are a thing of the past. M-Tronic accounts for and adjusts engine settings in varying temperatures and altitudes, and adapts the engine to variable fuel qualities. Indeed M-Tronic engines are tolerant to ethanol admixtures of up to 25% (E25) in fuels. The outcomes are engines that deliver reliable top performance and require minimum intervention, thus increasing productivity at work.

Available this autumn
