New Processing Station Speeds Up Firewood Production

Ryetec have just introduced the CCa Firewood Processing Station, a semi-automatic machine based on the popular CC station. The new unit combines the same heavy duty 700mm tungsten blades circular saw unit but now with a power operated bench to reduce operator effort to a minimum. Once the log is cut, if too small to split it can drop directly into a 4 metre long and 350mm wide professional elevator system or if the log requires splitting it can be placed on a 12 ton horizontal splitter unit with a hydraulically positioned 2 or 4 way splitter with single lever automatic function which splits and pushes the logs directly onto the elevator for loading while the next log is sawn.

The CCa offers a fast cutting saw capable of cutting material up to 12” (300mm) in diameter, with a saw bench which does not restrict the machine to perfectly straight and uniform timber as would be the case with a budget processor and the 12 ton splitter is capable of splitting hardwood even with knots into 4 pieces with ease. The whole hydraulic system is self-contained and does not rely on the tractor for anything other than a 540 rpm PTO drive and around 25hp so the unit is easily powered by smaller older tractors.

One man can easily produce a large amount of high quality logs in a short time with the CCa processing station and with a range of timber types, which makes the unit ideal for anyone with their own supply of timber where all material has to be dealt with and where it is not possible to justify larger processing machinery. The splitting unit can be used alone to split rings which have be cut by chainsaw and small diameter material is quickly and easily cut and loaded directly in to bag, trailers or trucks by the elevator, which telescopes down hydraulically allowing the machine to be easily transported in to the woods or stored in a build until required.
