New wildflower mixes for 2014

Q Lawns have announced that they will be adding two new versions of their popular Meadowmat wild flower matting to their product offering in 2014.

Meadowmat for birds and bees contains 42 species of native grasses and flowering plants that support either birds or bees.  Developed with the gardener in mind, the seed mix for Meadowmat for Birds and Bees has 20% grass and 80% flowering perennial and biennial plants.  There is a lovely long flowering season with a colour pallet that includes subtle yellows, pinks, whites and blues.  Flowers are followed by some beautiful architectural seed heads that will feed the birds in autumn and winter.

Passchendaele Meadowmat is a similar seed mix to the Traditional Meadowmat mix with a smattering of red poppies added in honour of the servicemen and women who were lost in WW1 a century ago.

Passchendaele Meadowmat will become available in March 2014 and Q Lawns have said that for every square metre of the matting sold, 50p will be donated to the Royal British Legion.
