The year 2014 marks the centenary of the beginning of World War 1.

Accordingly, during the next four years the nations involved in the conflict will be commemorating the event.

There is little doubt that there will be significant community involvement and this will be far-reaching. Already the planning is in progress from prominent national events right through to those organised by local communities.

Many local authority and parish council events will focus on cemeteries and features in cities and towns, whilst others will involve village halls, schools, golf courses and sports clubs.
