The New Major SWIFT Range of Roller Mowers introduces latest Optim™ steel innovation to offer high performance with up to 30% less weight.

The first Major Roller Mower was introduced to the market over 30 years ago and ever since, thanks to an uncompromising ethos of product development and innovation, Major Equipment has been the number one choice for ensuring the grounds of Great Britain and Ireland’s most prestigious parks, schools, polo clubs and race courses are always kept looking immaculate.

Thanks to the development of an innovative new steel technology, Major Equipment has succeeded in reducing the weight of their SWIFT Roller Mower Range by up to 30% compared to comparable models, all without sacrificing strength or power.

This has been achieved thanks to the use of Optim™ steel in the manufacturing of the SWIFT Roller Mower Range. Optim™ is a stronger yet much lighter material than the steel traditionally used in machinery manufacturing, and its successful deployment within a roller mower system offers customers a number of significant benefits.

Chief amongst these is the weight reduction that enables the Major SWIFT Roller Mower Range to be used on smaller compact tractors than has previously been possible, offering flexibility and convenience for groundskeepers within a variety of settings. The reduced weight also acts to improve valuable fuel efficiency and manoeuvrability.

Beyond the introduction of Optim™ steel, the SWIFT range has also had its blade system redesigned and improved. The patented new design cleverly allows the blades to kick upwards in the event of striking an obstacle and acts to protect your gearboxes and driveline. This improves on durability by preventing wear and damage to the equipment.

As part of the same detailed evaluation process Major’s team of experts has also re-engineered the aerofoil chambers, with the design now optimised to guarantee an even better spread of grass. Elsewhere on the machine Major’s tried and tested technologies are put to good use, including a heavy duty height-adjuster system for convenience and ease-of-use; heavy-duty rubber couplings; smart internal bearings (that offer protection against moisture and dirt, and reduce the need for maintenance) and a slip clutch as standard.

Customers can be assured they’re getting a quality, durable product designed to meet the functionality requirements of even the most demanding groundskeepers. There are five cutting widths in the SWIFT range; 1.9m (6' 3"), 2.4m (8'), 3.2m (10’ 10”), 4.6m (15') and 6m (19' 8"). The Major SWIFT range is available in three point linkage as standard with the option available to convert the machine into a trailed or front mounted version. The entire range also has an even better painted finish, so that the mower looks as good as your grass.
