Rolling down the road
Ease of maintenance, speed and quality of cut have all been cited as good reasons to look into Wessex ProLine RMX roller mowers.
Existing users of the Wessex machines say they get a cut equal to the traditional cylinder mower on fine turf with nowhere near the running costs, which makes them ideal for cutting sports club pitches and playing fields, small contract work, semi-rough grass on golf courses and large expanses of amenity grassed areas.
The range starts with the RMX180, a 1.8m working width roller mower which packs all the features and benefits of the larger models in the range into a compact body which is less than 2m overall width.
With its low minimum power requirement of 30hp it’s an ideal choice for working with a compact tractor.
The mowing deck is superbly crafted with three high speed rotor blades creating suction and the finest cuttings for a premium finish.
The next model up at 2.54m wide, the Wessex ProLine RMX-240 is the widest fixed deck roller mower you can transport safely on UK roads.
Perfect for contractors and councils looking to travel between mowing jobs without incurring the costs of a folding wing model, yet still offering a 2.4m cut width.
In fact the RMX-240, says Wessex, is their most popular roller mower and has been singled out in tests for its ease of maintenance and quality of cut at high speeds.
Another reason for its popularity is in the excellent compromise between size and performance, offering a width of cut that still allows a large amount of grass to be processed by a relatively small body.
Wessex urge prospective buyers to contact them for a demonstration and a copy of an independent tester’s report if further proof is wanted on these roller mowers being equal to the traditional cylinder type but without the associated running costs.
