Spring turf renovation made easy by Ryetec
To regenerate turf after the long, wet and relitively warm winter of 2013/14 a good scarification will remove the build-up of dead grasses and thatch which in wet weather also lead to build up of moss which scarifying will also help remove. Ryetecs Professional series flail scarifier collectors are ideal for this type of work and in a single pass they scarify at a set and constant depth without scalping and collect of all material removed.
Available in 1.2, 1.6, 1.8 and 2 metre working widths there is a machine to suit most tractors and applications and with the option of ground or highlift tipping. The machines feature a full width roller which controls the scarification depth with a simple screw allowing depth to be accurately set to the millimetre for exactly the required finish while a pair of front castor wheels allow the machine to follow contours in the ground and reduce the risk of scalping. The scarifying blades, spaced at approximately 30mm give uniform treatment without damaging the turf allowing for a quick recovery, especially important at busy sports venues and the simple 3 point linkage mounting and standard PTO drive mean the machine is easily and quickly attached to a standard compact or full sized tractor.
Professional machines also cut and collect grass, and are ideal to remove lush growth which might otherwise slow down other mowing systems and look unsightly or to clear the aftermath from bulb growth, the fine cutting blades provide a high quality finish and the rear roller leaves smart stripes. When the leaves start to fall the efficient collection system has a powerful vacuum created by the cutting flails which easily lifts wet leaves and the action of the leaves traveling through the cutting flails drastically reduces the volume and speeds up the rotting process.
