Turfdry is currently laying the finishing touches to a comprehensive installation of the Turfdry Drainage System using Hydraway Sportsdrain on all 18 fairways of The Rayleigh Club’s championship South Course before commencing similar works on the East Course in 2015. Turfdry has also designed, and is constructing a number of new ponds, in addition to modifying existing water features to maintain a uniformly quality aesthetic across the course.

This work comes following an intense period of consultation with the club’s owner, who is set on making The Rayleigh club the premier destination for golf in Essex. He chose the Turfdry Drainage System because it offers maximum drainage efficiency with minimum disturbance, and will allow The Rayleigh Club to offer enjoyable winter golf whilst other clubs are waterlogged or closed.

Both the drainage and construction elements of the work have been designed using the latest satellite survey equipment, which feeds thousands of data-points into cutting-edge 3D design software. This facilitates optimally efficient drainage design, in addition to maximum construction accuracy thanks to the machinery being fitting with laser/GPS control systems linked directly to the computer-generated model.
