10 Year porosity guarantee

Suitable for car parks and all other public amenity areas in town or country Sudstech is a two part, cold poured system which is laid on to a pre-prepared sub base of 200mil type 3 aggregate with edgings in place. Comprising of a sub base of resin bound recycled tyre and stone and a finishing top course of 20 mil resin bound aggregate, in  a range of attractive colours and finishes. The unique rubber sub base allows small finds to agitate through the surface as it is trafficked,  ensuring that it will never clog, providing little, if any, opportunity for weeds to grow. Because Sudstech is not laid on to either concrete or tarmac it is impervious to freeze thaw, water is able to expand as it freezes and return to the water table without risk of causing damage to the surface(delamination) with a   a 360 degree attenuation that allows water to percolate naturally into the ground preventing flash flooding.

Sudstech provides an attractive solution to Suds compliance and the challenges faced by drainage engineers in both  public and private sectors. Our clients include the NHS, the London DLR, English Heritage, borough councils and housing Trusts.

Up to 9 BREEAM credits are available for using Sudstech in a scheme and we are so confident in the continued porosity of our system we offer a 10 year porosity guarantee.

Sudstech also helps trees to flourish....

Trees are perhaps more valued in an urban landscape than any other, playing an important role in our natural life support system. They also have a vital role to play in the sustainability of our towns and cities. Trees help remove many pollutants from the air and take in thousands of gallons of rain water which helps prevent flash flooding but this can only happen when the root system of the tree is able to access it. Often the ground around trees is so heavily compacted air is unable to reach the roots and water is immediately sluiced away before the tree can use it. If trees are unable to access air, water and other nutrients they will spread their roots in search of it causing millions of pounds worth of damage to underground services such as water, gas and drain pipes. Roots can crack pavements causing trip hazards, which result in expensive compensation claims each year for councils.

When Sudstech is laid, natural voids are created during the construction of the rubber and resin sub-base. These voids will hold the water until it can be drawn down into the tree roots by capillary action. Air and other nutrients are also accessed by the tree in the same way, allowing the tree to flourish.   Sudstech is also virtually maintenance free, unlike tree surrounds and tree pits with loose chippings that often collect debris. Sudstech is also designed to withstand freeze and thaw without cracking.
