A new range topping model has been announced from Rapid Tractors designated the Orbito. This new generation 2 wheel tractor has an electronic control system with all functions controlled from two pods, one on each handlebar. As with all Rapid machines, it is hydrostatic drive and this time, with a 23hp engine. It features a zero turn sliding axle for perfect weight distribution on slopes which is adjustable on the move, two types of steering, either lever or through handlebar pressure, again selectable on the move. The tractor had reversing handlebars and so totally a two direction machine.

The first to run these new machines is the Scottish landscaping and grounds maintenance company, Land Engineering. They have just purchased 7 units complete with 130cm Rapid mulching flail mowers to use on their Scottish Water contract. The Rapid was chosen for its advanced features which make the machine safe when working on slopes, its power output to run the wider flail mowers and the finish that the Rapid SM flail produces.
