The Makita stand at this year’s Saltex will feature a vast range of cordless models including those powered by Makita’s twin-battery system, which utilises two 18v Lithium-Ion batteries in combination to deliver 36v power. Battery technology has been led by Makita over the past decade with the advanced Lithium-Ion batteries driving power tool performance and market leading sales.

Makita now offer a 6.0Ah version of the 18v Lithium-Ion battery which has a 55 minute charge time and a host of advanced protection and operating features. This new battery can be fitted to any Makita 18v tool that carries a star mark on the battery mount, or a yellow battery terminal plate, and offers 20% more capacity than the Makita 5.0Ah battery.

Makita cordless tools are used to maintain an increasing number of public parks and heritage properties around the country and where the use of Makita 36v linetrimmers and hedge trimmers offer the advantages of being virtually silent in operation and with zero admissions. These attributes are especially valuable when work is being carried out in locations where many hundreds of visitors may be in the immediate location.

Makita will also showcase machines that are powered by the MM4 engine which bristles with design innovations that deliver more horsepower, more torque and more reliability than the same capacity 2-stroke motor whilst at the same time dramatically reducing exhaust emissions, cutting fuel consumption, lowering noise and limiting vibration.
