SALTEX A SUCCESS FOR RANSOMES

Ransomes had a successful SALTEX earlier this month at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham.

The Ransomes stand had good footfall on the opening day of the show which continued well into the second day. The main attraction on the stand was the new Ransomes MP653 XC; the world’s first and only wide area rotary mower with a 14-foot cutting width. Also proving popular amongst visitors was the new Cushman Hauler range, the new Iseki TLE series of premium economy tractors and the Ventrac tractor and attachments.

Ransomes’ range of clothing, more commonly known as RJ Retail, was also displayed on the stand this year, which was very well received by visitors. RJ Retail offers a range of clothing from Glenmuir with personalisation and branding options available.

Ransomes sponsored the inaugural SALTEX College Cup, introduced by the IOG as a brand-new national student-led sports-turf challenge that took place on the first day of SALTEX 2016. The competition was an academic test of turf management knowledge for student competitors who were enrolled at colleges throughout the UK on relevant courses of study. The winners of the competition were the College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise from Northern Ireland. The winning team have been offered the prize of helping to prepare the Wembley pitch before and after the final of the F.A. Cup in May 2017.

Commenting on the inaugural SALTEX College Cup competition, Karen Proctor, Marketing and Communications Manager- International at Ransomes, said:

“The competition was a huge success. It was a fiercely contested battle between the teams, but in the end, the College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise from Northern Ireland were worthy winners. Ransomes were delighted to be able to sponsor this fantastic initiative; it is crucial to invest in education and professional development to ensure that the turf industry continues to thrive. We hope there are many more SALTEX College Cup competitions in the years to come, and we look forward to being a part of that.”
