Long Rake Spar expand Green Roof Products
Long Rake Spar have developed three categories of Green Roof Substrates each containing a blend to specific proportions of recycled and lightweight aggregates with composted bio waste products. The three products have been designed to suit most landscaping, locational and ecological specifications:
- Intensive System Substrates (ISS): An ultra lightweight blend of highly absorbent aggregates with a high proportion of composted bio-waste to be used as a substrate within recreational garden-scapes.
- Extensive System Substrates (ESS): A blend of lightweight, water absorbent aggregates with composted bio-waste to be used as a substrate in un-maintained rooftop environments.
- Mineral Drain Aggregate: A free draining, angular, lightweight product is available in conjunction with extensive systems to prevent slippage on steeply sloping roofs. - Brown Roofing Substrates (BRS): A blend of reclaimed aggregates with composted bio-waste designed to promote regeneration of the bio-diversity of demolition sites, which have been lost to construction.
Apart from landscaping benefits, Green Roofing offers many ecological advantages including: Improved climatic conditions, reduced temperature levels, improved humidity, reduced CO2 emissions, reduced smog levels; additional thermal insulation; reduced noise levels, reduced rainwater run off together with the development of diverse bio-habitats.
Long Rake Spar have developed this range of green roofing substrates as part of their commitment to environmental management of natural resources
