Jakob Ropes Provide Elegant Solution for Courtyard Garden

MMA has supplied a range of Jakob stainless steel ropes for the recently refurbished courtyard garden at the New Room in Bristol.  Built in 1739, the New Room is the oldest Methodist chapel in the UK.

Designed by award-winning landscape architects Reckless Orchard, the courtyard garden features a formal layout with clipped hedges and well proportioned lines and areas, echoing a typical, traditional mid-eighteenth century garden.

Developed to provide a 'green oasis' for visitors and shoppers to enjoy in the heart of the city, a central wall dominates the garden section of the courtyard which features 100 square metres of Jakob stainless steel rope trellis.  This robust and durable system provides an elegant, low maintenance structure which will support the growth of a range of climbing plants and fruit trees, helping to soften the outlook of the whole courtyard.

The courtyard also has a number of benches located along the wall for visitors to relax and enjoy the outlook as well as bespoke lighting to define specific garden features.

The Jakob range includes an extensive choice of high quality stainless steel ropes, rods and fittings as well as the Webnet mesh system.  Used in internal and external applications throughout the UK, the products are backed by MMA’s experienced technical support team who are able to provide detailed design and specification advice.  The company also provides a complete support service which includes design, supply, installation and maintenance.  For more information, contact the company on 0845 1300 135 or visit www.jakob.co.uk.
