Orec: Largest manufacturer of ride-on brushcutters in Japan

Orec are the largest manufacturer of ride-on brushcutters in Japan and supply two of Europe's best known distributors.Pictured is the most popular model, the 94, an 18 hp unit with a 95 cm (38") cut - small enough to get into (and out of) tight corners and big enough to cut large areas quickly and efficiently.

The 2 - range hydrostatic drive offers the operator exactly the right speed for the conditions and the low centre of gravity ensure superb stability on sloping ground. A diff. lock adds traction to heavily rutted or uneven terrain.

The cutter consists of a single heavy duty bar with swing tip blades at each end which will scythe through all types of groundcover right up to 30mm coppicing. The finished cut can be set at 50-100mm( 2"-4"), but grass, thistles and brambles over a metre high are easily dealt with. A long heavy belt drive protects the engine from shock and steel and rubber skirts protect bystanders from debris that may be thrown up.

The operator is protected by the ROPS bar, which can be fitted with a beacon for verge work, and a seat switch to cut the engine if the operator is dislodged. The seat and steering wheel positions can be altered for comfort and the large fuel tank increases the operational range and reduces the downtime during shifts.

The versatility of the machine may be increased by fitting a 70l electric sprayer to it for footpath maintenance or spot spraying and a towhitch enables rollers, spring rakes or harrows to be dragged instead of using a quad.
